For miter, butt, and socket fusion joints, the Polygon™ is a three-in-one solution for your prefabrication needs. With the Polygon, operators can complete butt and miter fusions for 2” to 6” (63mm-180mm) polyethylene pipe and socket fusions for 2” to 4” (63mm to 125mm) polyethylene pipe and fittings.
The Polygon is McElroy’s first manually-operated butt fusion machine with DataLogger® capability, which allows the capture of joint information to ensure that proper fusion procedures have been followed prior to installation. Joint records from the DataLogger can be securely stored and analyzed online in the Vault™, McElroy’s cloud-based data storage platform. The Vault provides quick and easy sorting, tagging, and sharing of joint records by machine, joint, operator, device, or job.
Quick-clamping jaws pivot in either direction, further streamlining machine setup, and a quick open/close, non-back-drivable wheel drive provides smooth jaw movement. To further boost efficiency, the Polygon’s rotating jaws lock in exact angles for butt or miter fusions from zero- to 45-degree angles, and the outer jaws are easily removable for fusion in tighter work spaces. With a manually-powered fusion carriage and battery-operated drill to power the facer, the only power required for the Polygon is the 1,600-water heater. This helps minimize the amount of extra power needed onsite and simplifies the working space.
